I'm sorry, but I do not understand these comments Deb. I've asked
your permission to mirror these documents as well (but I understand
that you've been busy lately; the new site looks very good).

Anyway, ...

- Why would we *not* want to include the relevant (Linux-oriented)
documents on the LDP? With 260+ world-wide LDP mirror sites,
don't you believe people could effectively make use of those
documents? Why make people choose - "for the RPM Howto you have
to jump the the OSWG site, sorry". More than once that has
happened to me (personally), and it's very frustrating.

- How is the licensing issue a problem? If the license is carried
with the document, everything should be covered. If there are
documents that we would have a problem in distributing (wrt
licensing issues), then we would be forced to ignore them in
  our mirroring process.

The LDP will be expanding their search and indexing process as well.
The use of DocBook will no longer be a barrier thanks to the work
of Jorge Godoy and others. I don't see a reason why we can't work
together on this.

I really hope we can get to some level of common-ground on these
issues. I don't want to see any sort of "turf-war"...it's unnecessary
and ultimately will hurt and confuse the consumer(s) of the
information/service(s) we provide.

best regards,
